About
Dr. Claudia Cobo-Angel is a Colombian veterinarian and epidemiologist with extensive experience in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) research and mitigation across the One Health spectrum. Before joining ICARS, she worked at the Universidad de Caldas (Colombia), the University of Guelph (Canada), and Cornell University (United States) on projects related to antimicrobial stewardship in livestock and companion animals, infectious disease epidemiology, animal welfare, evidence synthesis, and AMR surveillance.
As a Science Advisor at ICARS, Claudia supports country teams in low- and middle-income countries by sharing her expertise in surveillance, stewardship, and intervention and implementation research. She works closely with partners to co-develop context-specific interventions, while also learning from their local knowledge and experience. Together, these efforts contribute to sustainable solutions that mitigate AMR and support global development goals such as improved animal health, food security, and sustainable livestock production.
