About

Dr. Claudia Cobo Angel is a Colombian veterinarian and epidemiologist. Her research interests and experience are related to the intricate connections between animal health, environmental sustainability, and animal well-being, as well as the urgent need for antimicrobial resistance mitigation. Before joining ICARS, she worked at the Universidad de Caldas (Colombia), the University of Guelph (Canada), and Cornell University (United States) on various projects related to antimicrobial resistance and One Health. In recent years, she has focused on analysing the dynamics of antimicrobial resistance over time and understanding the consequences of shifts in antimicrobial use on bacterial tolerance to antimicrobials, as well as antimicrobial stewardship in veterinary medicine. As a Science Advisor at ICARS, she aims to contribute to global efforts in addressing antimicrobial resistance through sustainable solutions in LMICs.
