Organisation and Governance

ICARS was initiated by the Danish government and now operates as an independent international self-governing institution led by a global Board of Directors.

Formally established as a self-governing institution in November 2021, ICARS pursues the achievement of its ambitious mission and vision of partnering with Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) to mitigate Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

A key strategic goal of ICARS is to mobilise countries, foundations, and organisations to actively advance its mission alongside Denmark.
