ICARS has initiated the recruitment process for a new Executive Director, following the announcement that Dr Sujith J Chandy will be stepping down from his role as Executive Director in March 2026.
Since Spring 2023, Sujith has led important progress in advancing ICARS’ goals and strategic development, building a firm foundation towards a mature, robust and expanding organisation, including the establishment of ICARS Africa. During this period, ICARS underwent a period of considerable growth, with over thirty new projects initiated, advancement of policy implementation through evidence-based contextual solutions, strengthened capacity and knowledge translation in LMICs, an expanded and more diverse funding portfolio, along with critical convening, dissemination, and advocacy efforts in various national and global fora. This chapter of ICARS was marked by excellent collaboration with the Board of Directors, strong engagement across the organisation and with multilateral international agencies, and a diverse range of new partners who joined ICARS’ mission and activities. Sujith will be returning to India due to personal circumstances. ICARS thanks him for his valuable contributions and dedicated service.
Applications for the role of Executive Director are welcome before 25 February 2026.
ICARS is supported by Genitor in the recruitment process.
