We are pleased to announce the appointment of Miriam Reventlow as Director of Operations at ICARS.
As a member of ICARS’ Executive Management, Miriam will lead the Operations Department and have overall responsibility for the organisation’s operational functions. These include finance, human resources, IT, facilities, legal and compliance, travel and security, and governance support.
Miriam brings more than 20 years of experience from international organisations, including more than a decade in senior operational leadership. She joins ICARS from Oxfam Denmark, where she served as Operations Director for four years and led work across finance, human resources, IT and organisational development.
Before joining Oxfam Denmark, Miriam spent more than 16 years at the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims, holding roles across legal affairs, international advocacy, governance and operations. Her experience includes financial oversight, human resources, digital transformation, partnerships and risk management.
Miriam’s appointment comes as ICARS begins implementing its Strategy 2026-2030. The strategy sets out ICARS’ ambition to deepen engagement with governments and partners and strengthen the translation of evidence into policy and practice. She will focus on ensuring that the organisation’s systems and ways of working continue to develop in step with its international engagement and growing project portfolio.
Following her appointment, Miriam said:
“I am excited to join ICARS as it begins to put its new strategy into practice. Its commitment to locally led, evidence-based solutions, developed with governments and partners, was a major reason I wanted to join the organisation. My focus will be on turning organisational priorities into clear, workable systems that support colleagues and partners in delivering impactful actions. I look forward to working with the talented team at ICARS, building on the strong foundations already in place and supporting ICARS to grow while remaining efficient, accountable and collaborative.”
Welcoming Miriam to ICARS, Executive Director Helle Engslund Krarup said:
“We are delighted to welcome Miriam to ICARS. She has spent more than a decade leading operations in international organisations and brings strong experience across finance, human resources, governance, digital transformation and organisational development. This breadth of experience will be particularly valuable as we implement our Strategy 2026-2030 and strengthen the organisation to support a growing and increasingly complex portfolio. I look forward to working closely with Miriam as part of ICARS’ Executive Management.”
