Cèlia Ventura i Gabarró is a global health practitioner with a background in biomedicine and experience in AMR surveillance, gendered health, and non-communicable diseases. As a Science Officer at ICARS, she focuses on integrating gender and equity perspectives into AMR research. Before joining ICARS, Cèlia worked at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control in the Antimicrobial Resistance and Consumption Unit. She has also served as a research assistant at the University of Gothenburg, collaborating closely with the World Health Organization and working on unmet healthcare needs, elder abuse, and aging populations. Cèlia is passionate about the role of effective science communication in public health and actively engages in science dissemination projects in her free time.
