Dr. Daniel Damilola Kolade is an infectious disease field epidemiologist and public health specialist with over 10 years of experience at the intersection of science, systems, and policy across the One Health spectrum. He has worked on the design, implementation, and evaluation of One Health initiatives, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) programs, infectious disease surveillance systems, and global health security interventions. He has led and collaborated on large-scale outbreak preparedness and response efforts and implemented operational research projects related to AMR, immunization, cholera, zoonotic diseases, and other public health priorities in LMICs. Daniel holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in epidemiology. He also completed a postgraduate diploma in Infectious Disease Control from the Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Japan, and is a graduate of the Nigeria Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (FETP). Before joining ICARS, Daniel served as a Senior Technical Officer and Head of the Project Implementation Unit, One Health Division, at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Nigeria CDC), where he supported national One Health governance frameworks, health security policies, and antimicrobial resistance initiatives and contributed to regional and international programs in collaboration with governments, development partners, and academic institutions.
