About

Dr Titha Dzowela is a medical doctor and public health specialist from Malawi with over 20 years of experience in health systems strengthening and programme management, including work on infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). At ICARS, he leads the ICARS Africa office, working to ground ICARS interventions more deeply in local realities, whilst also improving coordination, capacity-strengthening and knowledge sharing across African countries. Previously, Titha served as the Program Manager for the Fleming Fund Country Grant at the University of North Carolina Project Malawi, where he led national efforts to strengthen AMR surveillance, laboratory systems, and antimicrobial stewardship through a One Health approach. His work has focused on building sustainable systems that enable countries to detect, monitor, and respond effectively to drug-resistant infections.
