This poster, originally presented at the 2025 ReAct Asia Pacific Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance, presents plans and preliminary findings for a project that aims to improve the appropriate management and dispensing of antimicrobials in private pharmacies by implementing Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) in Lao PDR.
The project aims to achieve the objectives through five work packages:
- Work Package 1: Situational analysis on Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP)
policy and at the private pharmacies across the country; - Work Package 2: GPP inspection and certification development;
- Work Package 3: Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of GPP and
certification roll out in intervention pharmacies; - Work Package 4: Evaluate the economic impact of GPP implementation
and implementation research factors; - Work Package 5: Develop draft National GPP Strategy and scale up
approach
