This poster, presented at the World One Health Congress 2026, explores how One Health integrated surveillance of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and antimicrobial use (AMU) can connect data across human health, animal health, agrifood systems and the environment to inform national action.
It outlines the Quadripartite’s Global Integrated Surveillance System of AMR and AMU (GISSA), alongside support from Africa CDC and ICARS to address implementation challenges. Early experiences from Chile, Vietnam, Senegal and Zimbabwe highlight the importance of national leadership, cross-sector collaboration, data-sharing agreements and stronger environmental surveillance.
The poster emphasises national ownership and capacity strengthening as essential to building sustainable surveillance systems that inform antimicrobial stewardship, policies and interventions.
